Starting
Minecraft as a newbie is pretty hard to start of. But if you know the basic things getting into the game is so easy.
When you spawn the first thing you want to do is look for trees and chop them by holding down the left button on your mouse. When done press E and click on the wood and put it into the 2x2 box in the corner next to your character. You then get wooden planks (good for a starter house) more at wiki.
Recipes
Minecraft is all about crafting so you need to know some recipes. A good source of recipes is the wiki
Anyway if you are having trouble here is every recipe 1.1!
